Under Moses, unbelief kept Israel out of the promised land of rest. God used Joshua to teach the younger generation faith. The message: Our enemy is defeated, we have a covenant with God, remember our deliverance, it’s a new day, we’re not alone, God gave us the land, do what God says even if it’s illogical.  Receive an understanding of doing whatever God tells you to do, even when it does not seem logical.
