Shavuot was one of the three pilgrimage feasts, requiring all Israelite men to present
themselves at the temple in Jerusalem. It was a day to celebrate the Grain Harvest, and a time to
rejoice and remember how God delivered the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. It’s the last of the
four Spring Feasts, occurring 50 days after First Fruits.
